I intend to live as a scholar. My mission in life—which seems to have been chosen for me by some combination of genetics and upbringing—is to develop a thorough understanding of everything I encounter—not just the material world, but the conceptual world. It’s not enough (for example) for me to know how to make friends—I want to understand what it is I’m doing, why it works, and when it doesn’t work.
I’m not just hoarding this scholarship. I also strive to be a good communicator. Once I’ve gathered all these academic, intellectualized understandings, I can incept them into other people’s minds. In my experience, people find this very helpful (when related to something they were trying to do) or at least fun (when it’s just fun facts).
This is just the intellectual side of my mission. I believe that everyone has many missions, many duties, many vocations, to different people according to the nature of the relationship, to themselves, to the world. But it is my role as a communicator that leads me to make this blog, so that’s the one that you, my reader, get to hear about.
